Due to a server error, Guild Wars experienced an unintentional reset of the traders. For nearly an hour, traders were selling items at unrealistically low prices. Due to the harmful impact that such an event would cause to the game economy, we are rolling back the entire state of the game to shortly before the problem began, that is, to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 21:00 GMT.
We estimate that the game will be accessible at approximately 11:00 p.m. PST tonight (07:00 GMT).

Simply becuase we surely don't need people in the game that are intrested in ruining the fun of others by systematiclly pushing items out of the reach of other players. It is apparent to me that a number of players fail to see the complexity of the reasons for a roll back in this case and instead of taking the time to actually understand the dynamics they just rattle off what they know best, a complaint about something they fail to understand.
I couldn't care less if they rolled back a month, its a game, if it takes me more time to hobble the stuff I had back together so what ?
A Puzzle only remains fun as long as it is not solved ! -

I agree. This rollback was a very good thing and should be treated as such. Besides if you had 50 Sup vigors how did you plan to sell them? EVERYONE had 50 Sup vigors!

OK, ive sat back and watched...
1. im ok with the roll back
2. i think Anet is trying do the right thing
3. and heres the minds blower... so what is the traders glitched for a while? yeah, in know all you Wow and D2 kids love grinding away and many lobe to sell for a buck, but so freking what! Its a game. Fixing the traders and knowing I missed a opportunity to get a great deal wouldnt stop me from playing. BUT it would effect you sale maongers greater deal more than ppl who actually play more than trade,
not a flame, or intended to be offensive, just my 1 cents

Sonofa...looks like I was right. My cynicism senses are tingling.
But honestly, do you think it was hard to guess? And to be fair, the original posted time was 8:30 pm PST. I was off by a half hour.

Confused
( Everyone would suffer irreparable harm, because the items that have value would be devalued. The economy would be damaged, perhaps to the point where it would never recover.)
OK maybe I don't understand...How could this cause this much harm??
I mean come on it's a game...I can see that some people would gain alot
of cash off this, but I'm willing to bet it would only effect things for a short
time.
People buy gold everyday off e-bay and that doesn't seem to hurt anything
in the game...atleast I've never noticed it.
just seems like alot of trouble to go thru and alot of people get inconvienced
because some people would get rich or get FoW armor..
I just don't get it...
what real harm could it have done?? economy in a game??
it is just a game after all.

its a lot more trouble to go to ebay and purchase gold. most of the younger players dont even or arent even old enough to have ebay accounts. point is, the merchant issue was easy to reach, no work. to make it more clear for you, when more people have these items, the value goes down. understand? all the ectos i have in my storage , all the EARNED sup runes i have will LOOSE value. this isnt a question about it being *just* a game, in a game there are rules, and beleive it or not, ethics along with economics in a mmorpg.
its not rocket science

Look I'm fine if you hate the update. I'm ok if you don't like the exploiters. But please don't fry the PvE people. I don't want to take the time to explain the whole PvE against PvP feeling to you and even if I did your hate would drown it out. Just know that you PvP people have alot of problems that us PvE people don't like. For example you can't get a good (team that can win 1 battle) PvP team unless you have a high rank and you can't rank up if you can't win. So if your new to the game and want to get on the PvP scene your never going to get there. (And don't mention this little thing called skill. I have PvPed and pwned many a guy in Hoh)

Ok, I understand the rollback and all. But I REALLY feel you guys over at A-net owe us a better explanation than a "server error" or simply because people bought things. Clarify? Explain? Something, I paid you 50$ and I deserve to know what is happening. I may be a little extra mad seeing as I got two things during this period of time that I wouldn't like to lose.
But c'mon, you encourage us and thank us for us being loyal/honest customers by reporting exactly what happened, so where's your half? Anet owes us a loyal/honest explanation, afterall we are the customers, not too sound greedy.
